We frequently receive animals transferred from other institutions. These animals were all born in captivity, and reside at The Creature Conservancy as animal ambassadors actively working to educate the local community about topics of biology, ecology, and conservation.

Harper was born at a zoo in North Carolina, and transferred to the Columbus Zoo soon after her birth. However, the cougars Lewis & Clark were orphaned by wildfires in Montana almost immediately afterward, and in order to provide them with a permanent home at Columbus, Harper was placed at The Creature Conservancy.

Bedhead & Lady Gaga

Our African Crested Porcupines were born at other regional facilities and transferred to The Creature Conservancy for use in educational programs.

Princess Sophia Maria Clementine & Scooter

Sophie and Scooter were both born at other facilities. Sophie was acquired for use in educational programs, and Scooter came to us from the Columbus Zoo to serve as a companion for her.
