Virtual Field Trips Title.jpg

Virtual Field Trips to The Creature Conservancy are a fun and engaging way to cover topics of biology and ecology. These 30 minute programs introduce a theme, followed by meeting 2 animal ambassadors that bring that theme to life. We’ll wrap up watching one of our animal ambassadors enjoy a snack or enrichment object while students have the opportunity to ask questions!

Amazing Adaptations: An armadillo and hedgehog will help learners identify reasons animals may look so different, and the different ways physical traits aid in survival. Join our armored and prickly friends to learn more about adaptations!

Biodiversity and Niches: We’ll learn about niches, with special examples of how different animals act as seed dispersers and nature’s “clean-up crew” in different habitats. The macaw and opossum will demonstrate how they fit into their particular ecosystem and how biodiversity is affected by these critters.

Human Impact: What on earth is an axolotl? And why is their species extinct in the wild? Through meeting our axolotls and bald eagle, we will look at how humans have impacted animals (both positively and negatively!) and how we can make a difference if we make the right changes.

Themes were developed for common core standards prescribed for grades 1-3, but can be adapted to audiences of all ages- so submit the form below to choose from any of the 3 options above, or to contact us to develop a custom program that meets your educational goals! There are many other animals that can be used to highlight these themes. Programs cost $100 and are held on Zoom (or the platform of your choice, by invitation).
