Internships

We accept interns seasonally, with slots available in 4 yearly sessions. Internships at The Creature Conservancy entail a blend of animal husbandry and educational program delivery. Hours are 9 am to 1 pm on weekdays. Priority is given to applicants with no planned absences (holidays included) and those who are pursuing degrees in an animal related field or receiving college credit for their participation. 

This unpaid position entails 20 hours/week of animal care for our collection of over 100 species of birds, mammals, reptiles & amphibians. Interns have the opportunity to learn and participate in all aspects of zoo animal care, including diet preparation, enrichment, health monitoring, behavioral training, and enclosure cleaning & maintenance.

 

Deadlines:

Consideration for fall 2018 (13 weeks; September 17 - December 14) closes August 15th, 2018. 

Consideration for winter 2019 (12 weeks; January 8 - March 30) closes December 1st, 2019.

Consideration for spring 2019 (13 weeks; April 2 - June 29) closes February 15th, 2019.

Consideration for summer* 2019 (13 weeks; June 25 - September 15) closes May 1st, 2019. 

Consideration for fall 2019 (13 weeks; September 17 - December 14) closes August 15th, 2019.
